Comenius-Regio is a new action within the context of Comenius “Life long learning”, started in 2009 to promote the European cooperation in the school sector at a regional and municipal level. Regional networks of educational authorities, administrations, teachers’ training institutes, schools and further institutions can enter into partnerships with equivalent institutions in other European regions.

At first only bilateral partnerships between regions, border zones or distant areas, in two different countries are possible. The partnership refers to subjects of mutual interests and the exchange of experiences. It aims at the development of sustainable structures within the cooperating regions. The funding period is two years.
